I have the honour to submit for the significa-
-tion of His Majesty's pleasure the following Ordinance entitled:-
An Ordinance to provide punishment for certain persons

found guilty of adultery or of harbouring Chinese
Married Women.
No. 42 of 1912.
The customary report by the Attorney-General is enclosed. In the New Territories, where under Chinese rule the
offences mentioned in Section 3 were punishable by the authorities,
the necessity for the provisions of this section has been felt, and
the legislation has received the support of the Chinese Community
and of their representatives in the Legislative Council.
